Reopening - Salaatul Jummu'ah

Posted on: 24 June 2020

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَ رَحْمَةُ الله وَ بَرَكَاتُه

May the peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) be upon you.

As NYC entered Phase 2 of reopening on June 22nd, we are now allowed to increase our accommodation for attendees to 25% of the building capacity.  This is based on the updated guidelines from Governor Andrew Cuomo allowing religious services to this capacity for Phase 2 regions.  You can view a summary of these guidelines here: NYS Religious Services Reopening Guidelines

We recognize that it will be slow progress to eventually get to what will be a "new normal” for us all.  After performing Salaatul Jummu'ah for the past three weeks at the Masjid we have learned a lot in adhering to the state guidelines.  Alhamdulillah we have been able to comply to the best of our abilities.  We have updated our safety plan based on our learnings from the past three weeks and we seek, by Allah’s permission, to now open up for larger attendance for Salaat-ul Jumu’ah on Fridays as follows:
  • Those that are willing, ready, and able to attend Salaat-ul Jumu’ah at the Masjid can do so by registering online at: go.assiddiq.org/jummuah.  Registration is on a first come first serve basis.  Once 25% capacity is reached, registration will be closed.
  • Only individuals with valid registration for each week's Salaah will be allowed to enter.
  • Registration is only valid for one week at a time.  You will need to re-register each week to attend future Salaatul Jumu'ah.
  • Once you have registered, all attendees are required to bring their own prayer rug, wear an appropriate face covering at all times, and adhere to all posted signs and volunteer’s instructions.
Registering to attend Salaatul Jummah is an easy five-step process.
  1. Click the Register Now button below.
  2. Click Select a Time and then click on Tickets.
  3. Select Brother or Sister registration as appropriate.
  4. Complete Registration Form.
  5. Bring the registration email confirmation with your barcode with you to Jummu'ah - either show us the email on your mobile device or have a print out of the email containing the barcode with you.
The Masjid will remain closed for all other daily Salaah until further notice.   Like everyone, we are trying our best during these unprecedented times.  We ask for your dua’, patience, and cooperation with us as we try to navigate the local and state guidelines to balance our collective safety with a pragmatic approach to reopening the Masjid.
