Eid-ul-Fitr on Sunday May 24

Posted on: 24 May 2020

Eid Mubarak

We wish you and your Family a blessed Eid

May Allah accept from you and and us

Eid-ul-Fitr Annoucement: Eid-ul-Fitr will be on Sunday May 24th

We are encouraging everyone to pray with their families at home at 8:15am and then joining a virtual live (https://cama.one/eid-ul-fitr) session held by CAMA at 8:30AM EST.

This year, due to the COVID19 pandemic, we are not able to perform the Eid-ul-Fitr Salaah in the Masjid or in the park. Muslims can pray the Eid-ul-Fitr Salaah in their homes with their own families (or individually in case one is living by oneself), and there is no need for a Khuá¹bah. Masjid As-Siddiq encourages everyone to perform the Eid-ul-Fitr prayer at 8:15 AM on the day of Eid and then tune in to a live Eid Message at 8:30 AM. Click on one of the live stream buttons below to join from your favorite live stream platform.

Methods of praying Eid Salaah:

Please visit cama.one/eid-ul-fitr for full instructions and an informative video on how to perform the salaah.

Salaatul-ul-Eid consists of 2 raka'at. There is no adhan or iqamaah for the salaah.  There are many ways of performing the salaah.  Here are two methods of praying:

Method1:

  • Six (6) extra Takbeer in the first raka'ah.
  • Five (5) extra Takbeer in the second raka'ah.

Method2:

  • Three (3) extra Takbeer in the first raka'ah.
  • Three (3) extra Takbeer in the second rak'ah.

Some reminders on the Sunnah on the day of Eid:

  1. Recite the Eid takbeer starting after Salaatul Fajr ("Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, La ilaha illAllah; Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, walillahil-hamd").
  2. Eat an odd number of dates or something sweet before Salaatul-ul-Eid.
  3. Take a bath (ghusl) and dress in your best clothes.

Grab and Go Goodie Bags and Snow Cones for Kids:

On the day of Eid (either Saturday, May 23rd or Sunday, May 24th pending the sighting of the moon) we will have goodie bags and snow cones at the Masjid from 11 AM to 1 PM. Please bring your children to receive these items on the special occasion of Eid (while supplies last). PLEASE NOTE: TO MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING THERE WILL BE CURBSIDE PICKUP ONLY.
