MASJID CLOSED due to COVID-19 Coronavirus

Posted on: 29 March 2020

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَ رَحْمَةُ الله وَ بَرَكَاتُه

Assalamu ‘alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu

May the peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) be upon you.

I pray that Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) has kept you and your family protected, safe, and healthy as we are collectively facing His test of the COVID-19 Coronavirus.  We ask Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) to send His cure soon and pray that the steps we all take out of precaution are effective to keep our families and communities safe.

The management of Masjid As-Siddiq has decided to close the Masjid for all daily prayers and Salaat-ul-Jum’uah (Friday Prayer).  This will be effective after Esha on Monday, March 16, 2020 until further notice. This decision was extremely difficult and was based on the consultation with scholars, the guidelines from the Center for Disease Control (CDC), the direction of government officials, guidance from CAMA and other regional and national Islamic organizations, and the best interest of our community.  Please note this decision can change based on guidance from government and health officials.

Our plan is to conduct further deep cleaning and sanitizing of the Masjid before resuming daily prayers and Salaat-ul Jumu’ah.  We are taking these steps to ensure everyone’s health and safety when visiting Masjid As-Siddiq.

In addition to the above, the Qur’an classes have been suspended, the Saturday Madrasa will be conducted online or packets provided to students, and all other scheduled programs or activities have been postponed or canceled unless otherwise stated.

The management team takes this opportunity to encourage everyone to pray their salaah at home as a family and use this as an opportunity to remind each other that this is a test from Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى).   We pray that Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) protects everyone.

We will continue to update you via email and/or social media on any changes at Masjid As-Siddiq as the situation evolves.
